Tokyo Revengers - Episode One (Anime)
The world of anime is huge, amazing, and rapidly becoming popular. From Dragon Ball to Koruko No Basket there are many different choices of anime. The anime show I've decided to review is Tokyo Revengers. This anime is very new with only one episode so far.
The main character is Takemichi Hanagaki (voiced by Yuki Shin) a regular guy who works odd jobs in order to make ends. When suddenly he is trusted back in time to prevent future events from happening.
When going into every new anime I look for four main things. Those being story, voice acting, animation, and the characters. With only one episode so far it is hard to determine just how good the show will be, but from what I saw there is promise.
Both the animation and the voice acting seem to be in top form. The voice acting was able to convey how serious certain scenes were and how crazy some of the characters are. The actors do a great job conveying the emotions of their animated characters. The animation was that of the new generation; crisp and fluid.
So far the story is good. The concept of having Takemichi go back in time is very interesting. Time travel is used a lot in the entertainment business so it'll be cool to see how they use it. And the ending just left me wanting more.
When it comes to the characters we as an audience do not know enough. One episode is hardly enough time to learn about the main characters.
What didn't like about the episode is just what little information we were given. We have no idea why any of this is happening or why Takemichi was chosen. It isn't even clear how Takemich is able to time travel. These aspects are very annoying, but it does make me want to come back.
Tokyo Revengers has good animation and a promising story. So I am very excited to see what happens next.
I’m not really much of an anime person, but your review was very informative with discussing the pros and the cons and I might start looking into this series and maybe it’ll change my stance on anime.
